A 37-year-old Murrieta man was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 21, on suspicion of attempted murder after he attacked members of his family, police said.
The attack occurred around noon at the 24000 block of 1st Avenue and left three of the man’s family members with “visible injuries,” according to the Murrieta Police Department. Two victims and the suspect were taken to a hospital for treatment. The man had injuries to his head “from family members trying to subdue him,” police added.
He was arrested on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
He was being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center with bail set at $2 million, Murrieta Police said.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the incident.
