Christmas comes early for unsuspecting WA Saturday Lotto player

One West Australian had better check their Saturday Lotto ticket twice, as WA records another Division One prize worth more than $731,000.

The ticket — bought at Gateways News and Lottery Centre in Cockburn — is one of seven to match the numbers in the weekend draw, equating to a six-figure windfall across the country.

Lotterywest spokesperson James Mooney said nine WA players won Division Two prizes, enjoying an early present the week before Christmas.

“If you have a to-do list today and you bought a Saturday Lotto ticket from Gateways News and Lottery Centre, it doesn’t matter if you’re naughty or nice, make sure you check it twice,” he said.

“It’s fantastic news that nine Division Two prizes worth between $11,400 and $8,600 will also call WA home for Christmas.”

The lucky Saturday lotto Division Two winners bought their tickets from: Archer Street Newsagency in Carlisle, Bishop Street Newsagency in Morley, Dream 2 Day in Bunbury, Newsextra Bentley News Tobacconist, newsXpress Centrepoint Midland, newsXpress Mandurah, The Lucky Charm Joondalup and Lotterywest Play Online.

All eyes are now turning towards Thursday’s Powerball draw, with players standing to win a whopping $50 million prize.

Lotterywest has produced a record-breaking return to the WA community for the second year in a row with more than $1 billion going back to WA in grants and prizes in the last financial year.

Tickets for Thursday’s Powerball are available until 6pm on draw day from Lotterywest in-store, online or via the app.
