The third wave of the pandemic is upon us as the numbers go up exponentially everyday. As we battled this phase, the country and people were relatively more prepared for it after the horrific second wave that caused unprecedented loss of life.

During the second wave, Deepika Padukone, along with all her family members, Anisha, Ujjala and Prakash Padukone had tested positive with the virus. The actor was in Bangalore with her family when she fell ill. Till now, she hadn’t spoken of what happened during her recovery, but in a recent interview, she spoke about the toll the virus took on her, “Life after Covid changed for me because physically, I was unrecognisable completely… I think (due to) the medication I was given, the steroids that I was put on. So Covid in itself was weird, your body feels different, your mind feels different. I felt that when I had the illness it was still okay but after that, I needed to take two months off work because my mind wasn’t working. The phase for me was very, very difficult.”
