Kishida cabinet’s approval sinks to new low of 37% in Nikkei poll

TOKYO — Support for the cabinet of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida plumbed a new low of 37% in a weekend survey by Nikkei and TV Tokyo, falling 5 percentage points from the October poll in a sixth straight month of decline.

The cabinet’s approval rating is the worst since the 36% of then-Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga in September 2021, the month before Kishida took office.
