Saturday’s men’s basketball game between No. 7 USC and Stanford in Palo Alto has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Stanford program, it was announced on Wednesday. Both programs will work with the Pac-12 to reschedule the conference game.
The Cardinal had previously postponed Thursday’s game against UCLA but as of Tuesday USC head coach Andy Enfield said that he expected Saturday’s game between the Trojans and Cardinal to be played.
USC now has three games to be rescheduled by the Pac-12 due to COVID-19 protocols. With Saturday’s new opening, it is possible USC could make up its postponed game against Arizona, with the No. 9 Wildcats also free on that date.
But if the top-10 matchup is played this weekend, it would happen in front of an empty Galen Center following USC’s decision Tuesday to close home indoor sporting events to the general public through Jan. 14.
