The 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback originally committed to the Ducks on July 8 and was originally recruited by Kenny Dillingham while coaching at Florida State and continued to pursue Moore after becoming the offensive coordinator at Oregon in 2022.
Dillingham was named Arizona State’s head coach on Nov. 27, which may have led Moore to explore options outside of his verbal commitment.
Moore took an official visit to LSU on April 22 and Oregon on April 29. He’s listed as a five-star prospect and is ranked as the top recruit from the state of Michigan and the 11th in the nation. Moore led Detroit King High to back-to-back state titles.
Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been UCLA’s starter for each of the last five years under Chip Kelly.
Thompson-Robinson’s departure will leave Kelly in search of a new quarterback going forward.
Kent State transfer Collin Schlee has committed to UCLA, adding depth to the quarterback position for the 2023 season.
Redshirt sophomore Ethan Garbers and true freshman Justyn Martin were backups on the roster this past season.
Three-star quarterback Luke Duncan of Miramonte High is committed to the Bruins’ 2023 class. Duncan had also taken his official visit with UCLA on Dec. 9
