Gift company Prezzybox is offering a dream job for one lucky person and their partner, casual date, or friends with benefits, to test out the brand’s romantic experience before Valentine’s Day.

Prezzybox will give £300 to the successful applicant, who will be known as their Official Date Tester, to cover their expenses, travel, and time.

The Official Date Tester will be required to test out the three dates and report back on a range of criteria, including how fun their date was, how much they get to enjoy their date’s company, how likely they are to recommend the date to others, and if they believe the experience is worth its value.

Prezzybox chose their three most popular date experiences for the Official Date Tester to try.

The successful applicant will be given vouchers for each of the experiences, valid for two people.

The three on offer are the Glamping Break for Two, the Bounce Below for Two, and the Spa Retreat with Afternoon Tea for Two.

The Glamping Break sold over 500 vouchers in 2021 and is the first activity for the Official Date Tester to try, who will get a one-night stay in a campsite of their choice (there are 24 UK destinations to choose from) with their guest.

The Bounce Below for Two is located in a 176-year-old disused cavern in the Welsh countryside, and the couple will be trampolining throughout the day.

The final date will be the Spa Retreat with Afternoon Tea, where the Official Date Tester and their guest can attend a spa with full access to their facilities and will be offered a free afternoon tea selection.

Ophelia Griffiths, brand and partnerships Manager at Prezzybox, said of the role: ‘Our experiences are becoming increasingly popular as Valentine’s gifts, but we need to know which are the best – this is the perfect opportunity for someone to connect with a partner or date, document their time together (not in too much detail, of course!), and report back to the team with their opinions.’

She added that while dinner and a movie are common and popular date ideas, Prezzybox wants to see if ‘out of the box’ dates ‘spark the same sort of romance’.

Prezzybox is looking for people who are ‘ready and willing’ to try out the variety of experiences and are able to travel to the dates on offer. The applicant will have to take photos of the dates in addition to providing feedback.

They said: ‘It’s the perfect way to connect (or reconnect!) with your partner – or a brand new date – and help us decide which experiences make the best Valentine’s gifts.’

To apply for this interesting job role, you will have to email a cover letter to, which includes the following information:

  • Describe the last date you went on and what made it romantic (max. 250 words)
  • Who would you take on your dates, and why? (max. 250 words)
  • Your full name and contact information

The deadline for applications is 23:59pm on February 14.
